The Exploration Train will be back during the WEF’26 week after being hailed as the most memorable event venue being proposed during the WEF’25 week and again will be stationed only five minutes walk from Davos Platz (main) station.
It is a fundraiser to finance multiple Wisdom Foundation nonprofit initiatives – including those listed below, which take place in Davos thorough the year (concept note: tiny.cc/WisdomFoundation). Our venue highlights
- Our Restaurant Wagon caters to up to 30 guests offering gourmet meals with local ingredients.
- Our Piano Bar Wagon comfortably welcomes 30 guests in a relaxed atmosphere and can also be setup as a recording studio for media intervierws etc – journalists/academia get a lower rate.
- Our operating hours during WEF’26: Monday 19th to Thursday 22nd 08:00 – 00:00 and event slots have a two hours minimum. The wagons can be rented separately or combined.
- Custom events at the Piano Bar in the morning or during lunch hours for media interviews and podcasts are also possible upon request. Accredited journalists and Academia benefit from a reduced donation request rate.
- Food/drink prices are standard for Switzerland, however a set donation per hour of venue use is mandatory to cover our charter costs and to support the initiatives mentioned above.
- There are also two Passenger Wagons with a standard seating configuration which can be used for private bilateral meetings seating 100+ guests.

Our Standard Timetable
To make the best use of our venue, we propose two hours minimum slots. Our standard operating times are 08:00 – 00:00, with the following themes proposed:
08:15 – 10:00 Breakfast
10:15 – 12:00 Brunch
12:15 – 14:00 Lunch
14:15 – 16:00 Late Lunch
16:15 – 18:00 Tea Time
18:15 – 20:00 Early Dinner
20:15 – 22:00 Late Dinner
22:15 – 00:00 Nightcap
Full Day/Half Day Events
It is also possible to host longer events lasting four hours or more. Our most popular session during WEF’25 was eight hours long.
Our guests were extremely pleased with the venue, which was for virtually all of them the first experience to board century old Swiss wagons custom built to cater to particularly adventurous passengers.
Use as a filming location
We can also make the wagons available as venues to film interviews, podcasts etc. The Piano Bar wagon is particularly well suited as it has plenty of additional floor space for cameras, lighting etc.
